One of the biggest struggles in today’s society is one in which stress and anxiety are the biggest competitors. Therefore, more and more methods are used to diminish the negative impact. The most renowned techniques are relaxation and mindfulness exercise. Scientists have proven the profits of relaxation methods for physical, mental, social and even academic well-being.
The same applies to mindfulness, whose benefits have been developed through multiple studies that highlight its role in controlling strain and intrusive thoughts, improving the control of emotions and advantages for the psychological and physiological domain. As for relaxation methods, there are multiple exercises such as gradual muscle relaxation, intense breathing, massage or meditation. There are also those allied to physical activity, such as, for example, yoga, and those that focus on external stimuli: music therapy, art therapy, aromatherapy or hydrotherapy.
